It may only be a small apartment behind the Leidspleine to some, but to Nina and I it is a palace of unquestionable worth. Friends back in Toronto had put me in touch with Shaun Feather, a fellow Torontonian living in Amsterdam. It was with some trepidation that Nina and I arrived at number 94a, a black door with a Canadian sticker affixed to the door handle for our benefit. We needn't have worried. Inside we walked into a kind of urban paradise: a long white room with a front lounge and kitchen partitioned off from the guest room, bathroom and master bedroom by a three paned glass partition, red and white furniture, marble counter tops, and huge windows. It was so modern, so chic, so well-lit and so EMPTY.
As Shaun Feather was not home yet, we dropped our bags and spread out - first on the bed, then on the couch in front of the tv, and then at the computer with a CANADIAN KEYBOARD!!! Bliss, it was utter bliss. We started to feel like real people again. We showered/bathed in a huge tub, unpacked and washed our clothes, bought groceries and made dinner. Later Shaun came home and we spent the rest of the night chatting with him.
It is nights like this that make my life of hostelling ahead seem very grim.

J,
Tilly showed us the pictures. What a find. Did you have to do something illegal, naughty or what to get it? No please don't tell me. We know I would be shocked.
XO
